The sheer audacity of it all was almost too much for her to bear. Her photographs were intimate, personal, not meant to be ogled by strangers. Now, they were displayed alongside pretentious quotes that she’d never written. It was as if someone had ransacked her home and put the contents on display. She felt the urge to destroy.

Her jaw clenched, her hands forming fists. She had to leave, needed to get away from the suffocating atmosphere. She felt like she was being watched, dissected, judged. She brushed past a couple, ignoring their compliments. The pleasantries felt like a personal affront. She began to walk faster.

She had to get out, and she had to do it now.
